The
Merced County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated
to business advocacy, economic development, tourism,
and enhancing the quality of life in all the communities
in Merced County. Since our founding in the late
1800s and our incorporation on September 4, 1925,
the County Chamber has built a heritage of service
and business advocacy for our member businesses
and this wonderful community in which we work
and live.
Today,
as we embrace the opportunities and challenges
of this tough economic period, the Merced County
Chamber of Commerce will be one of the leaders
in building our business community and BRINGING
JOBS to our County. |
 |
In
the years ahead, the County Chamber will continue
to strive to build a better quality of life for all
of the citizens of our County. Not through adding
to the existing and duplicative economic development
strategies, but through our networking programs like
the Chambers Roundtable and The Business Advocacy
Committee. The County Chamber is building cohesive
voices of understanding and cooperation that are essential
to a healthier future for our businesses, our families
and our neighboring counties.
The
Merced County Chamber of Commerce is steadfastly growing
even during these trying times. We attribute this
success to our commitment of true business advocacy
and a real return of investment to our members. The
County Chamber has been a prudent fiscal steward with
their members hard earned dollars. We do not spend
our members investment on fancy offices, over-staffing
and exorbitant administrative hits. For over 100 years
the County Chamber has been working with its committees
and community organizations to monitor local and state
government, facilitate commerce and tourism, and being
a cohesive voice for the business and agricultural
communities throughout the Central Valley.
The
County Chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee
has been diligently fighting for you on issues involving
community planning, an equitable permitting process,
and unfair agricultural and business regulations and
fees.
The
Chambers Roundtable is continuing the noble task of
networking the leadership of the City Chambers in
the valley to help each other more effectively serve
their members and their communities. While the voice
of a single business may go unheard, the united voice
of businesses via the Chamber’s Roundtable has
proven to be effective and beneficial.
Our
Education Committee is increasingly involved in programs
that not only affect education, but human relations,
environmental, cultural and governmental concerns
as well. We have partnered with several community
organizations including the Friends of the Library,
Community Gang Awareness Program, the Business Education
Alliance and the County School’s P-16 Council.
The Agribusiness Committee of Merced County remains
a vigilant team for agricultural education as well
as awarding agricultural scholarships.
For
a century, the County Chamber has created a beautiful
County Exhibit at the California State Fair to promote
Merced County and all of her cities to over a million
visitors who visit the fair each year.
If
commitment and dedication are what you feel about
your business and your community’s future, please
join the Merced County Chamber of Commerce and help
make our County the place to live, raise a family
and build a business.
